Whole Body Detoxification is a process of natural detoxification that combats the accumulation of chemicals, pesticides, and other pollutants that become embedded in the tissues of our bodies. Studies performed at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine found an average of 91 unnatural and unwanted chemicals in the bodies of study participants. The authors termed these findings the "chemical body burden".
These toxins can interfere with and even mimic hormones in the body. This disrupts the bodies delicate bio-chemical balance. Many toxins compromise liver and kidney function, can increase growth of unwanted bacteria, and prevent the absorption of essential nutrients. Toxins compromise energy production, impede cellular repair, and accelerate aging.

These short term detox programs pull toxins from the bodies tissues at a rate that exceeds the body's ability to eliminate these substances, and thus, the toxins are simply re-absorbed back into the body making the process futile. The body can only eliminate toxins effectively through a gradual process that does not overwhelm the organs of detoxification and elimination. It stands to reason that the detoxification system has already become overwhelmed and this is why the toxins have accumulated in the first place.
